“In the afternoon, the smell of suntan lotion is the smell of leisure, the kind that lays on a sandy beach with nothing to do but chill. But there is no chill. Our mind races with virtual possibilities of pleasure, criticality, and moral responsibility. The only acquaintance known is a face on a screen, emoting affection so uncanny that we lay feigning sleep till its time for work. A long commute back here again in bed. Pupils lit up like dying fireflies when suddenly you remember that at night suntan lotion smells of exhaustion
